Use Jet Vapor Deposition(JVD) in Place of Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and Electroplating

Jet vapor deposition (JVD) is a technology that offers a safer and more environmentally friendly alternative to chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and electroplating. In JVD, a wire of the appropriate composition is vaporized into atoms and then transported by sonic inert gas jets before being deposited on the substrate. This process ensures a uniform layer spread, enhancing the quality of the steel surface and facilitating good adhesion regardless of the steel grade. Moreover, JVD’s versatility allows for the creation of coatings of varying thickness and the coating of substrates regardless of their chemical composition.

On the contrary, electroplating involves the use of toxic chemicals, resulting in substantial water waste, and CVD employs toxic gases. These traditional methods not only pose significant health risks but also negatively impact the environment.

The transition to JVD guarantees a reduction in pollution-related costs, improved employee well-being, and a diminished negative environmental impact. Additionally, JVD facilitates a higher deposition rate, thereby enhancing productivity. JVD’s low temperature and low vacuum operating conditions enable high deposition rates, maximizing the utilization of source material. It operates as a clean and environmentally friendly process, offering numerous advantages over conventional thin-film metalizing techniques.

JVD can be implemented as a pollution prevention measure in industries, leading to a decrease in their negative environmental impact and creating safer workplaces.
